Terms of Use
Last updated: 21 July 2026
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are the end-user licence agreement between you and Nutri Expert Limited for the Calorie Papa mobile application (the “app”).
Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using Calorie Papa, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Who we are
Calorie Papa is operated by Nutri Expert Limited, Unit 8, 7/F, Block S-T, Valiant Industrial Centre, 2-12 Au Pui Wan Street, Fo Tan, New Territories, Hong Kong. You can reach us at papa@caloriepapa.app.
The service
Calorie Papa is an AI-assisted calorie and keto tracker. You log a meal by photo, voice or text; the app estimates calories and macronutrients and tracks them against daily targets it calculates for you. All nutrition figures are estimates and will not always be exact — you can review and adjust every item before saving it.
Eligibility
Calorie Papa is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country or region. By using the app you confirm you meet that age requirement.
Subscriptions
Calorie Papa is free to download and includes a free tier. Calorie Papa Pro unlocks the full feature set and is sold as an auto-renewing subscription purchased through the App Store.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Plan, length and price. The available plans, the length of each billing period, and the price are shown in the app and on the App Store confirmation screen before you complete your purchase. Prices vary by country or region and may change.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Renewal charge. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price shown for your plan.
- Managing and cancelling. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time in your Apple ID account settings — on your device, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your current period runs to the end of the term you paid for.
- Free trials. Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion of that free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription to Calorie Papa Pro.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. You must turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID settings.
Apple's standard EULA
If you obtained Calorie Papa through the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to your licence to use the app, in addition to these Terms.
Not medical advice
Calorie Papa is a general wellness and informational tool. It is not a medical device, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or health condition.
- Calorie, macronutrient and ketosis figures are AI-generated estimates based on what you log. They are not measurements, and they are no substitute for laboratory testing or clinical assessment.
- Your daily targets — calorie budget, macros and net-carb limit — are produced by general population formulas. They cannot account for your medical history, medication, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or any condition you may have.
- Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting a ketogenic diet, a calorie deficit, or any significant change to how you eat. This is especially important if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, have diabetes, kidney, liver or heart disease, an eating disorder or a history of one, or take prescription medication.
- Never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something you read in the app. If you feel unwell, seek medical help.
Sources
Your daily targets are calculated using published, publicly available methods rather than a proprietary black box. The main references are:
- Resting energy expenditure — the Mifflin–St Jeor equation: A new predictive equation for resting energy expenditure in healthy individuals (Mifflin & St Jeor, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1990).
- Activity multipliers — physical activity levels applied to resting energy expenditure: Human energy requirements: energy requirements of adults (FAO/WHO/UNU Expert Consultation, 2001).
- Rate of weight change — a gradual, steady pace of about 1–2 pounds a week: Steps for Losing Weight (US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
- Minimum calorie floor — reduced-calorie prescriptions of 1,200–1,500 kcal a day for women and 1,500–1,800 kcal a day for men; our single 1,200 kcal floor is the bottom of that range, applied as a protective limit on the calculation rather than as a target: 2013 AHA/ACC/TOS Guideline for the Management of Overweight and Obesity in Adults (American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and The Obesity Society, Circulation).
- Ketosis carbohydrate range — roughly 20–50 g of carbohydrate a day: Low-Carbohydrate Diet (StatPearls, NCBI Bookshelf).
- Macronutrient ranges — the Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range (AMDR), including the 20–35% of calories from fat whose lower bound we apply as a hard minimum: whichever mode you pick, at least 20% of your budget is reserved for fat before any other macro is allocated: Description of the Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine).
- Protein above the RDA — why the 0.8 g/kg RDA is a minimum rather than an optimum, and why adult intake is better judged against the AMDR: Optimizing Protein Intake in Adults: Interpretation and Application of the Recommended Dietary Allowance Compared with the Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range (Advances in Nutrition). We also use that same 0.8 g/kg as a floor: when a budget is too small to hold a body-weight protein target, protein is trimmed to fit — but not below the RDA, and never at the expense of the fat minimum above.
This list is the complete set of references behind Papa's target calculations, and we keep it current on this page. The same references, together with a plain-language explanation of each formula and the constants it uses, are also in the app under Profile → About → “Sources & science”. Note that the nutrition estimate for an individual meal is produced by AI from what you log — it is not taken from the references above.
Where a number is our own implementation choice rather than something a reference prescribes — the conventional 1.2–1.9 activity multipliers, the single 1,200 kcal floor, the 1.6 and 1.8 g/kg protein targets, and the macro splits for each mode — the app says so on that page.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the app: no attempts to disrupt or overload it, no scraping, no reverse-engineering, and no using it to build a competing service. Don't use the app for any unlawful purpose.
Intellectual property
The app, the Calorie Papa name and brand, and the Papa mascot are owned by Nutri Expert Limited. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app. You may not copy, sell or reuse our content or branding without our permission.
Your content
The meals, photos and profile details you enter remain yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to process them so the app can work — including sending them for AI analysis as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your submissions to train AI models.

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any estimate it produces will be accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nutri Expert Limited is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profits or health outcomes, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions — in which case the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted.
Termination
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. You can stop using the app at any time and delete your data from Profile → “Delete all my data”. Deleting your data does not cancel an active subscription — see Subscriptions above.
Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version on this page and change the date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
